I wanted a moody still life. The potatoes didn't get a vote.
Three of them on a dark countertop, with the light kept low so their skins went soft and gray and the shadows did most of the talking. A couple of small flares crept in along the top, and I left them in. Real kitchen, real light, not a product shot.
Their next stop was probably a potato salad. They didn't need to know that.
